1 in 3 fatal Coast crashes involve drugs, alcohol

Transport and Main Roads Minister Mark Bailey said statistics showed 56 per cent of road fatalities involved single-vehicle crashes in the Sunshine Coast region, followed closely by more than 38 per cent involving alcohol or drugs.There were 97 road fatalities and 1966 people hospitalised as a result of 1715 serious crashes in the Sunshine Coast district over the past five years.
