THE SUN is out and the sky is blue - but it should come as no surprise to Sunshine Coast residents how quickly the weather can flip in a matter of hours.
Weatherzone senior meteorologist Jacobus Cronje said the Coast should expect the possibility of severe thunderstorms from 3pm today.
He said it was also possible the Coast would see a fair bit of rainfall late afternoon and in the early hours on tomorrow morning.
"The temperatures will be pretty mild, reaching 30 degrees today and 28-29 degrees tomorrow,” Mr Cronje said.
He said following the rain and possible thunderstorm tonight, residents should expect "to feel quite uncomfortable and humid” with humidity levels reaching up to 90%.
However, the weather tomorrow will be less predictable, with a 60% chance of rain and intermittent showers.
"The bureau's weather warnings should be closely watched,” he said.
